When Rachel and Jordan reached out to Atalie Day Photography about their fall Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding in Stevensville, Maryland, I was all in. We met for their engagement photo session months prior to their wedding, sneak a peek here.
During their engagement session, I learned the two had officially married during the pandemic in an intimate ceremony at a courthouse. Now, they wanted to plan the wedding celebrations of their dreams witnessed by their loved ones from near and far.
Rachel is a doctor, a psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins and Jordan is an entrepreneur originally from Canada. Aside from being highly successful people, they are both utterly kind and thoughtful. During Rachel’s sister’s wedding speech, she revealed that Jordan had jumped into the Baltimore Harbor not jut once in the name of love, but twice!
The first time he jumped in was to rescue a bird that Rachel was concerned had been injured. The second time, was to save their beloved hound dog, Lola, who accidentally fell into the harbor. The sister stated that Rachel had found someone who loved her so much that they would leap into the Baltimore Harbor, which isn’t know for its cleanliness.
Rachel began the bridal preparations at The Spa at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. Her closest family members joined her as she was getting her hair and make up done. She opted for an updo which complimented her features beautifully.
The dress Rachel chose to wear was absolutely stunning! She wore a form-fitting strapless dress with lovely floral accents and a dramatic train. Her veil was textured and floor length, cascading behind her as she walked.
Jordan and his gents arrived at The Tavern at CBBC prior to the ceremony to put on the finishing touches, like boutonnieres and cufflinks. The wedding was a “black tie” affair, so the gents wore black tuxedos and bowties.
Rachels vision for walking down the aisle was to be in a wildflower field. Scentsational Floral Design created a magnificent floral arch and floral accents that lined the aisle. It was absolutely breathtaking.
The ceremony location offered a space filled with natural light and a view of the Bay Bridge. It’s the perfect choice given the off-chance of rain. Everything went beautifully, although Jordan’s best man (his brother) pulled a carrot out of his pocket instead of a ring! Luckily, everyone thought it was hilarious!
After the ceremony, we spent a little time in the ceremony room for photos of just the newlyweds. The, we gathered on the lawn overlooking the Chesapeake Bay for family formals. The golden hour lighting was gorgeous and the white arbor backdrop perfection.
At sunset, Rachel, Jordan and I snuck off for couples photos around the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding venue. It offers a stretch of beach, lawn, and tall grasses to use as a background. Their sunset photos are some of my favorite to-date.
The reception was held inside The Tavern complete with the floral arch adorning their sweetheart table. I heard amazingly lovely, thoughtful and hilarious speeches by their parents and siblings, and following dinner, everyone had a blast dancing to The Bachelor Boys Band.
For Atalie Day Photography, a Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding is a dream venue! See more of Rachel and Jordan’s beautiful wedding. Here’s to wishing these two (and all my amazing clients) a lifetime of happiness and love!
