Rachel and Jordan had the perfect location in mind for their engagement session. St. John’s Church, Western Run in Glyndon, north of Baltimore. The location was meaningful to them, it was on the short list of considerations for their upcoming wedding. The church itself is made of beautiful large stones with a spire reaching skyward. Furthermore, the grounds are surrounded by stone walksways and a line of ancient trees. Just beyond are farms and fields…it was idyllic.
We decided to creep a bit past the curch grounds into a neighboring field. I didn’t think the owners would mind 😉 Rachel and Jordan brought their sweet rescue pup named Lola to the session. Likewise, I absolutely love dogs, so it’s always a “yes, bring your pup,” from me.
Rachel and Jordan explored the idea of marrying at this church and holding their reception at Sagamore Farms nearby. However, fate had other plans. Instead, they chose Chesapeake Bay Beach Club just across the Bay Bridge. I encourage my engagement clients to choose a location of meaning. It always results in heartfelt moments that I love to capture.
Later, after an outfit change, we headed back under the ancient-looking trees…just because it was that beautiful.
We ended the engagement session at the iconic Sagamore Farms. This historic horse founded in 1925 by Isaac Emerson (inventor of Bromo-Seltzer) was bequeathed to Alfred G. Vanderbilt, Jr. for his 21st birthday in 1933 by his mother Margaret, who was Emerson’s daughter. Under Vanderbilt’s legendary guidance the farm was internationally recognized as a premier training and breeding facility for the next half century. We snuck into a nearby field and quickly snapped a few photos.
I cannot wait to share photos from Rachel and Jordan’s spectacular wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! It was breathtakingly beautiful.
