As an Annapolis engagement photographer, I love the backdrop of downtown for engagement sessions. Jen and PJ are getting married next June at Springfield Manor, which doubles as a distillery and brewery. It’s a lovely venue located in Thurmont, MD outside of Frederick. The distillery has their own lavender field that typically blooms in June. I am so excited to capture this beautiful couple amidst the rows and rows of beautiful blooming herbs.
I met Jen and PJ in downtown Annapolis along the City Docks for our engagement session. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining and there was a warm breeze. Jen wore the perfect maxi dress, a neutral light blue color with a side slit. And PJ looked dapper in his button-up shirt and black khakis.
These two sweethearts met online when PJ was abroad serving in the military. They later met in person when he returned to Maryand and the rest is history.
I love the historic charm of downtown Annapolis, the brick roads, eclectic shops, and notable landmarks, it’s such a unique location for an engagement session. I always recommend strolling up to the Maryland State House for a few photos, as well.
As the sun was setting, I could tell we were going to be blessed with an exceptionally lovely sunset, so Jen, PJ and I drove over to St. John’s College to make a few photos along their waterfront. It was a beautiful way to end a remarkable Annapolis engagement session.
